1979–80 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup

The 1979/80 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 1st World Cup season in ski jumping. It began in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy on 27 December 1979 and finished in Štrbské Pleso, Czechoslovakia on 25 March 1980. The individual World Cup was won by Hubert Neuper and Nations Cup by Austria.
Vikersund competition took three days from 29 February to 2 March. Second day was cancelled for strong wind. Total points from first and last day counted as World Cup win. This was the first and only time in World Cup history when two, originally three events, together counted as one event.
